Sherrie is one of the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at the Donaldson Wellness Center, supervised by Dr. Roger Copeland, PsyD, LPC-S.
Sherrie received an undergraduate degree in psychology from Sam Houston State University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from The University of North Texas, and a second Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. She spent several decades in the educational system, working in the classroom, working with teachers and principals, and working as a behavior intervention specialist.
Sherrie believes in client choice and working with client strengths in order for healing and growth to occur. She works with those who have experienced or are currently experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, students who have behavioral issues and with educators who need behavioral strategies in the classroom.
Sherrie believesthat those who experience difficulties must become self-aware and learn self-management, including social awareness and relationship building. As your therapist, she will be genuine, empathetic, and we will build a connection in order to help you grow and overcome. Everyone has the ability to grow and change. As we grow, adjustments and improvements occur. With our sessions, I will collaborate with you to identify and improve areas in your life for growth and improvement. Sherrie will be with you on your journey moving forward.
