Sherrie is one of the Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) at the Donaldson Wellness Center; she is licensed to practice in Texas and is also a National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC).
Sherrie believes in building a solid therapeutic relationship with the client and believes that this relationship begins with listening to the client. As your therapist, she will be genuine, empathetic, and we will build a connection in order to help you grow and overcome. Everyone has the ability to grow and change. As growth occurs, adjustments and improvements occur. With Sherrie, sessions are collaborative, and you will work together to identify and improve areas in your life for growth.. She will be with you during each step of your journey moving forward. Sherrie believes in client choice and working with client strengths in order for healing and growth to occur. She works with those who have experienced or are currently experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and more, holding additional certifications in trauma, anxiety, and other specialties.
Sherrie received an undergraduate degree in psychology from Sam Houston State University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from The University of North Texas, and a second Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. She spent several decades in the educational system, working in the classroom, working with teachers and principals, and working as a behavior intervention specialist.
