Jaylon believes therapy should be a space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change. He works collaboratively with clients experiencing trauma, relationship concerns, identity issues, emotional distress, and performance-related stress. His approach integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), along with mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and self-compassion.
Jaylon has experience working with survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, couples, and athletes. He is especially interested in trauma recovery, relationships, emotional regulation, identity development, multicultural concerns, and sports psychology.
Jaylon also has experience with psychological and neuropsychological assessment, including work with children and adolescents in foster care. He approaches assessment from a Rogerian lens, emphasizing empathy, collaboration, and understanding the individual beyond test scores. He aims to integrate assessment data with each client’s history, strengths, culture, and lived experiences to provide meaningful recommendations.
Jaylon is a fourth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Outside of clinical work, he enjoys writing, fitness, sports, and continuing to expand his knowledge within psychology.
